Deutsches Energieberater-Netzwerk (DEN) e.V.
Organisation of the association
Let us introduce ourselves!
If you would like to know more about the Executive Board, Board of Directors and Head Office, you have come to the right place

We are a nationwide association of economically independent
engineers, architects, planning offices,
master craftsmen and technicians
We are the German Energy Consultants Network (DEN) e.V. – a community of experts dedicated to energy efficiency. Our members offer comprehensive consulting and planning services for energy-efficient construction and modernisation of residential and non-residential buildings, resource and material efficiency, energy audits, mobility and much more. Since the founding in 2001/2002, over 1,200 offices have joined the network and offer their services throughout Germany via our energy consultant search in order to concertedly meet the increasing demand for qualified advice.
Another hallmark of our nationwide network is its neutrality and economic independence: the members do not receive any commission or other earmarked benefits from manufacturers, merchants or service providers for their work.
Our qualified experts also pass on their knowledge and extensive experience as lecturers at the DEN Academy, the educational institution of the German Energy Consultant Network.
The industry also recognises the value of independent advice: part of our association’s budget is supported by sponsoring memberships from well-known manufacturers of energy-efficient building products, who contribute their expertise to our network.
The organisation structure
The DEN consists primarily of its more than 1,200 members. Members are ordinary members, student members and supporting members.
The General Assembly is the most important body in the organisation. This is where all important decisions are made. In each year, the Executive Board manages the organisation and makes decisions within the scope of its remit. The Executive Board is supported by the Administrative Board, which is composed of regional spokespersons and departments. Competence teams provide professional input and at the same time facilitate dialogue between members. Events such as the ‘Berufseinsteigerstammtisch’, networking days, forums and other formats strengthen the life of our association and at the same time promote the goals of DEN.
The Executive Board

Jutta M. Betz
Dipl.-Ing. (FH)
Jutta M. Betz has been working for over 25 years in the field of building services planning (specialising in heating, ventilation, I&C, CHP, construction management) as an energy consultant for residential and commercial buildings. She is a founding member of the German Energy Consultant Network and was previously active as a regional spokesperson for DEN e.V. in Bavaria and as a member of the administrative board. Quality assurance for energy consulting (DEN-QS) and a job description for energy consultants are of great concern to her. Jutta Betz has been working on both topics within DEN e.V. for a long time. In addition to expanding the network and services for members, she also focuses on promoting young talents and cooperating with other professional associations.

Marita Klempnow
Dipl.-Ing.
After graduating as a civil engineer and working in the energy sector, she founded ‘leben bauen wohnen’, an office for building biology and energy consulting. Marita Klempnow has been active for years, first as spokesperson for the DEN e.V. board and since 2020 on the DEN e.V. board. Her focus is on representing interests in Berlin, quality assurance in energy consulting and the further development of funding programmes. The development of a professional profile for energy consultants and a standardised fee structure are also amongst her goals. Together with Jutta Betz, Marita Klempnow is responsible for the development of the association and lobbying the federal authorities (BMWE, BMU, dena, KfW).

Stefanie Koepsell
Dipl. Ing. (FH)/M. Sc. – Spokeswoman of the Executive Board
Stefanie Koepsell is part of the Board of Directors and plays a central role in DEN as Spokesperson of the Board. She supports political work and public relations. Some of you will recognise her from the podcast ‘das aktuelle Energiestudio’ or as a speaker at the DEN Academy. Another major concern for her is DEN’s scientific department – the GRE. Here she takes on an advisory role. Together with her partner, she works in an energy consultancy office in Leipzig. As an expert in sustainable building, Stefanie Koepsell is increasingly focussing on the holistic approach to building design, particularly summer heat insulation in new builds.

DEN competence teams
What would DEN be without its competence teams? The teams bring professional impetus to the network, support the interests of the members and work on content that the Executive Board passes on to the teams. They are therefore a valuable support for the organisation. The competence teams meet online to discuss their areas of expertise, such as residential buildings, non-residential buildings, commercial buildings, sustainable construction and much more.
